Delhaize corporation is an international company that is a foremost name in food retailer and is headquartered in Anderlecht, Brussels, Belgium. Delhaize Group was established in the year 1867 by Jules Delhaize in Charleroi, Belgium. Store setup is principally supermarkets, which correspond to 85% of Delhaize Group's sales arrangement. The Delhaize Group's sales network also comprise of other store formats such as neighborhood stores, convenience stores, and specialty stores. The group is aggressively engaged with EPA's ENERGY STAR plan to administer energy effectiveness across its portfolio of U.S. facilities. Delhaize Group also takes on in food wholesaling to stores in its network of sales and in nonfood retailing of goods such as pet products and health and beauty products.

Since the company establishment in the year 1867, Delhaize shifted their business from Charleroi to Jean, near Brussels, in the neighborhood of the West Station having a big warehouse, cellars, offices and a domestic service, a school, a fire brigade and factories where foods of the brand "Le Lion" are produced. Shortly after the Second World War the Delhaize group does most of its factories. from this day forward, the goods of the brand created by suppliers who meet the Delhaize excellence. Delhaize Group's businesses are positioned mainly in the United States (Food Lion LLC, Hannaford Bros. Co., and Sweetbay Supermarket) and Belgium however there are various other operations that to be found in Greece, Indonesia, Luxembourg and Romania. In 2007, the company deserted the Czech market after 16 years and sold all of its 97 supermarkets to Billa that's not all 2 years later the company left the German market after 6 years and sold all of its 4 supermarkets to REWE Group. However, in 2011, Delhaize obtained Serbian retailer Delta Maxi.
